残暑が、うなりながらやってくる。特別室で寝たきりの彼は97歳。シミひとつ無いきれいな顔である。
お酒に親しんだ人の生命力の強さは抜群だ。魂も呆けてはいない。今日も元気！よかったよかった。
The lingering heat of summer is coming while groaning. The bedridden guy in a stateroom
is 97 years old. He has a clean face with no mottles. The vitality of the person who has
indulged in drinking is outstanding. His soul has not become senile. He is cheerful today, too! I’m relieved.

訛りがあろうと、ごつごつとした話し振りであろうと聞き手が耳を傾けてくれたら会場に楽しい雰囲気が生まれる。
いつまでもだらだらと話すことが名スピーチではない。
No matter how accented or vulgar the way of speaking is, if the speech attracts the
attention of audience, the site gets cloaked in a pleasurable mood. A lengthy, dull speech is not sublime.

流し目の蛇の娘とすれ違う

おどろおどろしい見世物小屋の蛇娘ではない。夕方になっても庭であそんでいる蛇のことである。
あのにょろにょろがイヤで反射的に「はよう、お帰り。お母さんが待ってるよ」って言葉をかける。
必ず声を振り返るような仕草をしながら消えていく。
| This does not mean an eerie specter of a show tent. This means a snake that is
still hanging around a yard in the evening. I hate her creeping move, and reflexively say,
“Hurry to go home. Your mother is waiting.” She goes away while looking back every time.
